Off the Wall Ground Investigation
Geoff Davis recently had to think a bit laterally on a site where there was no vehicular access, but information was required on how the ground would behave on excavation.
With the help of a friendly builder, we were able to remove part of the retaining wall of an existing boathouse, to reveal far more information on the strength and discontinuities than would have been able to have been obtained from hand-held boreholes or trial pits, with considerably less effort and expense, to the pleasure of both our client and the engineer.
Not a bad location either!
