Continuous Ground Gas Monitoring
On a site that bore similarities with the infamous Gorebridge site – underlain by Coal Measures and with a mine shaft that had been treated by drilling and grouting – Ruddlesden geotechnical has recently carried out continuous ground gas monitoring to confirm the ground gas levels present and complete the ground gas risk assessment.
Continuous ground gas monitoring has the advantage over spot/ periodic monitoring in that it can be completed over a shorter period, with more confidence, to both consultant and the regulators, that the monitoring has been undertaken in near worst-case environmental/ atmospheric pressure conditions.
